Ski, Play, and Explore: Adaptive Recreation in Snowmass

Snowmass is committed to making outdoor recreation accessible to everyone, including individuals with physical and cognitive disabilities. Our ski area and community organizations offer specialized programs that ensure all visitors, regardless of ability, can enjoy the slopes and outdoor adventures. There are programs designed to meet the needs of every participant.

Challenge Aspen

Challenge Aspen makes it possible for those with disabilities to enjoy the area’s many recreational, educational, and cultural experiences. Based in Snowmass Village, the organization hosts year-round adaptive programming, including adaptive skiing, making outdoor activities accessible to people with any physical or cognitive disability.

Challenge Aspen Military Opportunities (CAMO)

Additionally, CAMO was founded in 2005 and provides year-round experiences for injured and ill members of military services.

Challenge Autism

Challenge Autism was founded in 2012 providing individuals with autism offers highly structured recreational, educational, and cultural activities, providing opportunities to improve in sports, communication, and daily life skills.

Ascendigo

Formerly known as Extreme Sports Camp, provides specialized instruction in skiing and snowboarding for children and adults with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Winter and summer programs are available.
