Snowmass Village, Colo., (June 27, 2024) – Summer in Snowmass Village continues with a robust lineup of events in July, featuring four new events and many returning favorites. New events include Dog Wash Day, Community Ice Cream Social, the Snowmass Americana Music Series, and the Summer Après Series. Returning events include the ever-popular 4th of July Celebration, Snowmass Arts Festival, Heritage Fire, and more.

4th of July Celebration – July 4: Celebrate Independence Day on Thursday, July 4 in Snowmass! Enjoy a festive evening of free sweet treats, free glow in the dark goodies, and a special Snowmass Free Concert Series performance by the Spazmatics. *New – Community Ice Cream Social – July 5: From 3:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m., head down to Snowmass Town Park for an ice-cold community gathering, featuring free ice cream from The Dreamery, lawn games, and community fun. Snowmass Gran Fondo – July 6: The Aspen Cycling Club hosts their annual noncompetitive Aspen Gran Fondo at Snowmass Town Park on July 6. A Gran Fondo is a long-distance ride traveling up and down the Roaring Fork Valley’s most iconic climbs. Cyclists of all abilities can choose their definition of a long ride: 30, 60, or 100 miles. Anderson Ranch Annual Art Auction & Community Picnic – July 13: An Anderson Ranch tradition for over 40 years, the Annual Art Auction & Community Picnic brings people together for an afternoon of fun and excitement. Silent auctions feature works of art — typically more than 200 — by top contemporary artists and locals alike. Alongside the auctions are engaging art-based activities for all ages, delicious picnic-style food, and live music. The Annual Art Auction & Community Picnic is the culmination event of Recognition Week (kicking off the week of July 8th with the Recognition Dinner held on Thursday, July 11th). A fundraiser at heart, all proceeds from the day directly benefit Anderson Ranch educational programs. www.andersonranch.org
Snowmass Art Festival – July 13-14: The Snowmass Art Festival is a juried art show featuring original handcrafted artwork. This free two-day event showcases local Colorado and national artists, representing a wide array of mediums including painting, sculpture, photography, ceramics, glass, wood, and more. Triple Crown World Series – July 17: The Triple Crown World Series returns this summer to the Roaring Fork Valley, giving guests and locals the opportunity to watch the best of youth baseball. Headquartered in Snowmass, the Triple Crown World Series is a Valley-wide sporting event, featuring youth baseball games (9D2, 11D2, 12D2, 14D2) with regional and national attendees. Opening ceremonies take place in Snowmass on July 17, with spectator opportunities available throughout the week. *New – Snowmass Americana Music Series – July 20 & July 27: The new Snowmass Americana Music Series features local Colorado bands playing a spectrum of Americana genres, from bluegrass, to folk, to country. All shows are free and take place at 7:00 p.m. at The Rock Garden Stage on the Snowmass Mall. The lineup features Heavy Diamond Ring on July 20 and Westrock on July 27. *New – Community Dog Wash – July 21 & August 25: From 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., bring fido out to Snowmass Base Village for a community dog day. Heritage Fire – July 27: Heritage Fire is a three-hour tasting event that unites live-fire cooking, family farms, and local chefs as part of a 15-city tour. The walk-around reception offers an all-inclusive bacchanal feast featuring thoughtful bites prepared by some of the most critically acclaimed kitchens in each market, utilizing products from locally sourced farms and sponsors. The festivities include fun and interactive activations, as well as the crowning of each city’s Heritage Hero. ACES Guided Hikes – Through September 29: Aspen Center for Environmental Studies (ACES) returns to Snowmass this summer to lead twice daily hikes. The Snowmass Wildflower Walk begins at 10:00 a.m., on the Nature Trail, while the Ice Age Discovery Walk starts at 1:00 p.m. on the Discovery Trail. Hikes are led by a knowledgeable ACES environmentalist and feature history, facts, trivia, flora and fauna, and possible wildlife sightings. Hikes leave from the Snowmass Mall Ticket Pavilion. Summer Après – Through September 29: Summer Après in Snowmass is the ultimate destination for live outdoor music, games, and community gatherings. Every Wednesday through Sunday, check out live music on the Tower Stage, activities, games, and special experiences throughout Snowmass Village. This new summer series entices locals and guests to stay and play around Snowmass. Music on the Mall takes place on the Tower Stage from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, through September 27, while Wednesdays and Thursdays through August 15 features performances from the Aspen Music Festival & School. Fridays through August 23 features Cornhole Fridays, a competitive, tournament style corn hole competition from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the Rock Garden, located at the top of the Skittles/Sky Cab Gondola. Compete for custom Snowmass swag and prizes! Snowmass Rodeo – Wednesdays, through August 21: The iconic Snowmass Rodeo celebrates its 50th anniversary this summer. This long-standing Western tradition is a Snowmass summer staple, complete with authentic cowboys and cowgirls competing in all the rodeo classics, including barrel riding, saddle bronc, bull riding, and much more. New for the 50th anniversary season, unique acts debut at each rodeo, commemorating 50 years of Snowmass Western Heritage, a 501(c)3 non-profit benefiting scholarships for the rodeo and local community. Also new this summer is the completion of Snowmass Town Park, a multi-year, $6.5 million beautification project featuring new landscaping, parking lot flow, and grounds for the Snowmass Rodeo. The Snowmass Rodeo takes place on Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m., rain or shine. Doors open at 5:00 p.m. for a BBQ Dinner and activities. Snowmass Free Concert Series – Thursdays, through August 22: Celebrating 32 years of free live music this summer, the Snowmass Free Concert Series, a locals’ favorite and long standing summer tradition, returns to Fanny Hill every Thursday evening at 6:30 p.m., through August 22. The weekly outdoor series features a spectrum of sounds including country, reggae, rock, funk, bluegrass, and more. Snowmass Ice Age Discovery Explorer Tours – Fridays, through September 27: Did you know Snowmass is the site of the finest ice age fossil discovery in the world? Learn the full story of this remarkable discovery from an Aspen Science Center educator. Every Friday at 3:30 p.m., meet in the Limelight Snowmass lobby to learn about the mammoths and mastodons who used to live in Snowmass, and see replicas of Ice Age animal bones, teeth, tusks and more. Then, follow along on a guided Ice Age Passport Walk through Base Village and the Snowmass Mall to see art inspired by the discovery and earn an Ice Age prize!
