Snowmass Village, Colo., (November 18, 2022) – An idyllic holiday destination with snowcapped peaks, glittering lights, and cozy atmosphere, Snowmass Village, CO celebrates the 2022 holiday season in festive fashion. From Thanksgiving and into the New Year, guests can enjoy a variety of special experiences.

From visits with Santa, to tree and Menorah lightings, to the Anderson Ranch Holiday Open House, there is something for everyone to enjoy.”
Starting opening day of ski season on November 19, guests of all ages can enjoy Snowmass S’mores, free starting at 3:30 p.m. daily throughout the winter season, presented by Snowmass Tourism. Guests can find branded s’mores carts (which resemble oversized marshmallows) in Snowmass Base Village and on the Snowmass Mall, featuring delicious s’mores treats.
Kick off the holidays in Snowmass with the John Bemis Community Potluck, a beloved community Thanksgiving event with a 30 year history, on Sunday, November 20 at 5:00 p.m. at the Viewline Resort Snowmass, Autograph Collection. This Thanksgiving inspired feast returns to Snowmass after a two year hiatus. Join friends and neighbors for this special communal evening presented by Viewline Resort Snowmass, Snowmass Village Rotary Club, Alpine Bank, The Romero Group, East West Partners, Eastwood Investments, the Snowmass Chapel, and the Town of Snowmass Village. The Artisan at The Stonebridge Inn offers a traditional Thanksgiving spread on Thanksgiving Day including a chef carving station, free-range turkey, and prime rib with all the Thanksgiving sides including stuffing, collard greens, mac n’ cheese, and a harvest salad. Snowmass Village lights up for the holiday season on Friday, December 2 at 5:30 p.m. with the annual Light Up the Night tree lighting ceremony at the Snowmass Chapel. Enjoy cocoa, carols, a countdown, and an in person visit from Santa. Over 40 trees light up the night, making for a stunning picturesque display.
On December 3, the new Viewline Snowmass Resort, Autograph Collection features a Santa Paws photoshoot. Bring the furry family members for a special holiday afternoon featuring Santa.
Anderson Ranch Arts Center kicks off their winter season with a magical experience during the Holiday Open House on December 8 from 4:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. The evening includes Artists-in-Residence open studio tours via candlelit paths, the opening of the latest special exhibition in the Patton-Malott Gallery, and the chance to purchase a selection of one-of-a-kind gifts in the ArtWorks store. Stay for dinner and a lively auctionette featuring carefully curated artwork along with other fun and festive auction items. The Collective Snowmass comes alive as Santa’s Village from December 10 through the New Year, complete with nutcrackers, inflatable snowmen, decorative lights, candy canes, light tunnel, and more. Guests are able to take photos and enjoy the festive holiday scene, daily during operating hours.
December 17-18, the Collective Snowmass hosts a Winter Market from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. The Winter Market features local artisans and vendors, pottery, candles, jewelry, and festive goods.
Starting December 18, Snowmass Luminescence, an interactive art and light display presented by Snowmass Tourism and Aspen Snowmass, immerses guests and community members in a dazzling world of light and art, located between Snowmass Base Village and the Snowmass Mall. Snowmass Luminescence runs from sunset to 9:00 p.m. daily.
Celebrate Hanukkah at the Collective Snowmass with large Menorahs on display December 18-December 26.
Santa visits the Viceroy Snowmass lobby on December 20, 22, and 24 from 3:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. December 24 features an appearance by Mrs. Clause for added holiday cheer!
On December 21 the Viewline Snowmass Resort, Autograph Collection hosts a meet and greet with Santa’s reindeers on the lawn, followed by a breakfast with Santa on December 23 and 24 at Stark’s Alpine Grill. Breakfast is held both days between 7:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. and features candy canes and photo ops. Then December 20 – December 25, the Viewline Snowmass features daily hot cocoa and cider stations, as well as live music in the lobby from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. The Viewline Snowmass also features a weekly Family Movie Night every Thursday starting December 8, and every day during peak holiday season December 17 – January 1 featuring seasonal movies such as Elf, Frozen, and Home Alone.
The Collective Snowmass comes alive with holiday cheer in Santa’s Village December 21 – 24 from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. each day. Guests are able to take photos with Socialite and enjoy the festive holiday scene. Santa’s Village features a unique Snow Globe photo opportunity, featuring live performers, while Nutcracker and Snow Queen stilt walkers roam around Snowmass Base Village for all to enjoy. Santa will also be on hand, while Sensory Santa, in conjunction with Challenge Aspen, is available on December 22 and December 23 from 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. for a calmer Santa experience.
Holidays carolers, the Holiday Bell Tones, bring festive cheer to the Snowmass Mall and the Snowmass Center, singing crowd favorites, December 21-24 from 12:30 p.m.-4:00 p.m. each day.
On December 22, the Limelight Snowmass Hotel starts their daily happy hour from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m., featuring great deals on local beers and wine. Also on December 22, Limelight Snowmass offers a Hot Chocolate/Mulled Wine Cart on the patio during apres-ski hours.
On Christmas Eve, guests can attend one of three Christmas Eve Services at the Snowmass Chapel. Services on December 24 take place at 5:00 p.m., 7:00 p.m., and 9:00 p.m., complete with full choir and orchestra (7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. only), readings, and reflections. The Snowmass Chapel also hosts a Christmas Day service at 10:30 a.m.
On Christmas Day, celebrate Christmas at restaurants and hotels around Snowmass. TORO at the Viceroy Snowmass offers a Gala Buffet from 4:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. for $185/person. On New Year’s Eve, guests and locals alike are invited to experience the Torchlight Parade and Fireworks. The Torchlight Parade features skiers and snowboarders making wide turns down the mountain with red flares that illuminate the night sky and snow with a festive glow. The parade begins at 6:00 p.m. and all are welcome to participate (must be an intermediate skier or above) or to enjoy from the base of the mountain. (Ski/snowboard participants begin loading the Village Express chairlift at 5:30 p.m.) Fireworks launch at 10:00 p.m. to ring in the New Year.
To ring in 2023 guests can look for a variety of prix fixe and à la carte specials at restaurants and bars around Snowmass Village. The Collective Snowmass hosts a festive free New Year’s Eve celebration from 7:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. featuring DJ Tenza, family friendly event, festive party favors, an East Coast ball drop, and a complimentary champagne toast. TORO at the Viceroy Snowmass offers a Gala Buffet from 6:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m., with late night finger food from 11:30 p.m. – 12:30 a.m. and dancing from 10:00 p.m. – 1:00 a.m. for $489/person, including a Ruinart Champagne Toast.
