Reasons to Visit Snowmass This Spring

SaveSaved to Favorites

Spring slush or powder day, spring is THE time to be in Snowmass.

As the days lengthen and the sun shines bright, it’s only natural for people’s attention to drift ahead toward summer activities. But in Snowmass, spring brings longer, warmer days, the best après vibes, and extended lift hours to enjoy every minute on the mountain until closing day April 20.

More often than not, powder days abound in the spring, mixed with sunny bluebird days begging to be skied first chair to last.

The 411 on Snowmass Terrain

Snowmass boasts wide-open slopes and tree runs alike that are as fun in powder as they are in soft, slushy snow. With options for every skill level, from beginner slopes to more challenging trails, the 3,300 skiable acres offer mountain views that do not disappoint and terrain that is exciting in all conditions.

All About the Après

In our humble opinion, the best part of the spring season is the après scene. Gone are the early and midseason days of warm beverage breaks to warm up cold toes and noses: now it’s time to take a much-deserved break and sit back to enjoy a beer or cocktail slopeside! What is better than toasting to warmer weather with a crisp beer after a day on the slopes?

On mountain favorites include Ullrhof and Elk Camp restaurants with patios offering plenty of daytime sunshine, as well as indoor dining options if the snow is falling.

Recently remodeled, The Cabin is a new spring favorite easily accessible from both the Village Express and Coney Express chairlifts. The Cabin hosts a vibrant après scene Thursday-Sunday, 2:30pm-4:15pm with a DJ booth, food options (did someone say gourmet hot dogs?!), and plenty of outdoor seating.

Once you’re done skiing for the day, head to Venga Venga, New Belgium Ranger Station, or Rock Island Bar & Grill on the Snowmass Mall to keep the party going!

Live Music

Live music is good for the soul and the cherry on top of a day spent on a sunny patio with a refreshing cocktail. Fridays kick the weekend off with live music on the Tower Stage on the Snowmass Mall, 2:30-4:30pm. This venue is directly across from The Stew Pot and the Snowmass S’mores cart: music, après, and dessert all in one place.

March also marks the start of the free Aspen Snowmass Bud Light Hi-Fi Concert Series. Concerts take place in Snowmass Village and in Aspen, so head to Aspen Snowmass’ website to get all the details on the spring lineup!
